The 2018 theme is “Never Lose Hope: Unity Wins.” Keynote speaker will be Dr. Tommie Smith Gold Medallist, Games of XIX Olympiad, Mexico City 1968 and faculty member at Santa Monica College for 27 years. Program includes music, entertainment and student awards.
Admission is free and free parking is available at 1212 7th Street (enter behind 7-Eleven store–Wilshire at 7th Street).
Community Involvement Fair –10:30 to Noon following the celebration at St. Monica’s Church – Grand Pavilion, 701 California Ave., Santa Monica, CA 90403. Community organizations will meet with attendees and provide informational materials. Refreshments provided and also door prizes. Optional: please bring a pair of new socks to donate to The People Concern (www.thepeopleconcern.org).
