Black Girls CODE Los Angeles Chapter Presents: Build a Mobile App in a Day!

December 9, 2017

December 9, 2017

10:00 am To 4:00 pm

Maker City LA 1933 S. Broadway Suite 1100 Los Angeles, CA 90007

Event Description

This workshop will focus on mobile app development with MIT AppInventor!

AppInventor is a fun and simple tool that allows our young code divas to create their own mobile apps using drag-and-drop technology. The programming blocks fit together like puzzle pieces and are used to build the app user interface and program. Girls can learn how to write music apps, apps that tell fortunes, and more. They’ll never wonder again if there’s an app for that, because now they’ll be able to create their own!

No prior programming experience is required for this class and all BGC workshops are geared towards introducing participants to the technological universe and encouraging them to pursue careers as tech creators and entrepreneurs.

This class is intended for girls ages 7-17.

Check-in begins at 9:15 AM. The event starts promptly at 10:00 AM. Laptops, mobile phones for programming and lunch will be provided.
