The French-Cuban twin sisters mix Afro-Cuban roots with percussion & electro-soul. Praised by Noisey & KCRW as a “mesmerizing” & “tough to tear your eyes from” live set, Ibeyi is also joined by special guest Mimi Zulu.
Naomi and Lisa-Kainde Diaz. They are daughters of the late Cuban percussionist Angà Diaz. Naomi plays percussive instruments, the Cajon and the Batas, while Lisa-Kainde plays piano. Together the twins sing and combine modern pop, hip-hop and electronic influences with the traditional sounds of their Father’s Yoruba culture. Their father, famed Cuban percussionist, Anga Díaz, received a Grammy for his work with the Latin jazz band Irakere and was also a member of Buena Vista Social Club.
