28th Annual Central Avenue Jazz Festival

Music is back on “The Avenue,” so get ready to groove and swing to the smooth sounds of jazz at the 28th Annual Central Avenue Jazz Festival. The talented hosts, Jose Rizo, Jimetta Rose and Michael Dolphin will be presenting an incredible line-up of top notch performers on three stages including five-time GRAMMY award winner Billy Childs and Hubert Laws, premier flute player and winner of the 2011 National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Masters Award.

This free family-friendly event brings together the entire Los Angeles community to celebrate jazz greats such as Gerald Wilson, Ernie Andrews, Billie Holiday, Charles Mingus and Dexter Gordon, while putting a spotlight on the younger emerging artists that are continuing this rich art form.

Jazz and Blues performances will be featured on three main stages, in addition to performances at the historic Dunbar Hotel.
