Just in time for Father’s Day, Kwame Alexander’s memoir, Why Fathers Cry at Night: A Memoir in Love Poems, Recipes, Letters and Remembrances, which is already receiving critical acclaim, will take readers on a journey into the emotions and mindset of a man who has explored through letters to his father, his late mother’s recipes and original poetry, what it means to be a son, a father and ultimately, a friend to himself and others.

New York Times bestselling author Kwame Alexander, who is also the author and showrunner for the new Disney+ series The Crossover, is best known for his numerous, award-winning books for children and youths.
Kwame will be in conversation with Joy Bryant, a Bronx born, Yale dropout who left school to become a fashion model. She eventually found her way to Hollywood, where she’s enjoyed a 20-year career as an actor in film and television, most notably on NBC’s PARENTHOOD and most recently on Ava Duvernay’s CHERISH THE DAY. The writer/producer is also a drummer and a self-proclaimed ‘food narcissist’.
