In its 14th year, the Bakewell Media’s Taste of Soul Festival continues to bring unique, authentic foods and entertainment to Crenshaw Blvd.
Dubbed Los Angeles’ largest street festival, The Taste of Soul Family Festival takes place annually in October and features a taste of all things “soulful” including food from local restaurants, live entertainment, displays from local artists, and exhibits from local businesses and organizations.
Hyundai Motor America’s Hyundai Experience @ Taste of Soul returns with another show-stopping Sound Stage located at Crenshaw & Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd! The Hyundai Soundstage will be the place to be with featured artists including EU f/ Sugar Bear, Keri Hilson, Dru Hill and headliner, Johnny Gill! Check out the full line-up with hip-hop legend, Doug E. Fresh to host and perform along with LA’s best, DJ Mal-Ski and Friends.
The Gospel Stage will also welcome regional vocalists and choirs recruited by Pastor Kelvin Sauls of Sauls Enterprises and Ricardo Mowatt of Mowatt Entertainment. Also performing: local quartet group, the Zion Messengers, Shari Demby, Pastor Desmond Pringle, Angela Polk, Holman Jubilant Voices, and the Los Angeles Inner City Mass Choir.
94.7 The Wave Stage will be there! Get ready to party and groove to the classic sounds of the S.O.S. Band, Klymaxx, Evelyn Champagne King, Chosen Recovery, Cultural Soul, Tony Grant, Tay Walker and special performance by Bakewell Media’s StarQuest Winner!
Founded by Danny Bakewell Sr., now in its 14th year, the Taste of Soul is presented by the Los Angeles Sentinel Newspaper and benefiting the South L.A. non-profit organizations Mothers in Action and the Brotherhood Crusade, the Taste of Soul Los Angeles is a free family-friendly event hosted in partnership with the City of Los Angeles, Radio Free 102.3 KJLH, and 94.7 The Wave. The Taste of Soul takes place in the 8th and 10th council districts represented by Councilmembers Marqueece Harris-Dawson and Herb Wesson Jr.
