“Jazz music is the perfect metaphor for democracy,” says Wynton Marsalis- and his latest work The Democracy! Suite is a testament to that.

Recorded live at Jazz at Lincoln Center Appel Room during the Covid-19 lockdown with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra Septet, the work is an impassioned reflection of today’s turbulent times and a prayer for a brighter tomorrow.

Watch Marsalis and the Lincoln Orchestra’s performance of the album’s first single “Out Amongst the People (For J. Bat).”
