Overview
Our History: In the Mid 1960’s, a southern woman by the name Mary McCallum-Stewart, brought her Mississippi home-style cooking in the West Coast and opened a little restaurant called Mississippi Mary’s Soul Food Restaurant, known by most as M&M’s, that became so popular that it was given international recognition through lyrical acknowledgement by hip hop artists like Ice Cube.
Some years later Mary’s brother, Ventress MeCallum, bought one of the three restaurants marking the beginning of Venni Mac’s M&M Soulfood Restaurants. Mary and Ventress left a legacy that the McCallum family will continue to cherish.
