Event Description

Back by popular demand!  The International Awareness and Arts & Letters Committees of Inglewood Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., proudly present, “An Evening of Legacy: Reflections and Contributions of African Women Throughout History”. The production will take place on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 7 pm at the West Angeles Performing Arts Theatre. The theatrical production written and directed by IAC’s own Soror Aresa Allen-Rochester & Mr. Brandon Rainey, tells the story of a young African American girl who is ashamed and angered that she is Black. The story unfolds as she travels through time to learn more about famous African American women and the impact that they have made not only in her life but the global society throughout different eras in time. We tell this story through dramatic readings, song and dance. Similar to our 2013 production, we will have Deltas from various chapters participating and members of other Black Greek Letter Organizations as well. If you witnessed this production before you know what to expect, but be advised that we have made a few enlightening and thought-provoking additions to the original script!
