Event Description

Join the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art for a special family art-making day in Leimert Park! Create your own fantastic creature masks, take photos together in our photo booth, and bring your creations home to enjoy. A Star Wars concept artist and a Walt Disney Animation Studio artist will be on stage to inspire your creations and to talk about using their imaginations to bring fantastic creatures to life!

Free Shuttles 

The Lucas Museum will run free shuttles to and from Leimert Park to community organizations throughout the day. More info and shuttle schedules at

About the Organizers

Founded by philanthropist and filmmaker George Lucas and his wife, Mellody Hobson, President of Ariel Investments, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art will inspire current and future generations through the universal art of visual storytelling. The museum will present permanent collection and rotating exhibitions for diverse public audiences which will feature illustrations, paintings, comic art, photography, and an in-depth exploration of filmmaking (including storyboards, costumes, animation, visual effects, and more). Extensive education programming designed for all ages will explore innovative ways for visitors to engage with narrative art. Designed by renowned architect Ma Yansong and under construction in Los Angeles’ Exposition Park, the museum will feature new public green space, state-of-the-art cinematic theaters, a research library, numerous spaces for onsite education, restaurants, retail, and event spaces.

How to Register?

No registration needed. This event is free and open to all. Drop by any time 10am – 2pm.
