Los Angeles Urban League is hosting their 46th Annual Whitney M. Young, Jr., Awards Gala with this years theme of “Empowering Excellence.” The red carpet begins at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception at 6:00 p.m., and the dinner will begin at 7:00 p.m. The evening’s keynote address will be delivered by Lonnie G. Bunch, III, founding Director, National Museum of African American History and Culture, The Smithsonian Institution.
Honorees include Byron Allen, founder, chairman, CEO of Entertainment Studios for the Whitney M. Young, Jr., Award; the inaugural John Mack Legacy Award will be presented to Fred Ali, President and CEO of Weingart Foundation; Jeffery T.D. Wallace, President and CEO of LeadersUp, will receive the Dr. Winston C. Doby Community Coalition Award.
