Event Description

You’re invited to the 4th Annual Haiti International Film Festival.  The theme of this year’s festival is Changing the Narrative of Haiti.

This day-long celebration of Haitian culture through film, art and food will showcase three short films at 1:30pm:
Sitwayer Lari (Citizen of the Street)
Le Negre Maroon
Florise: The Beauty of Haiti

The 2019 feature films selections are:
3 PM: Singular, a documentary about the talented Haitian-American jazz singer Cécile McLorn Salvant’s journey of winning three Grammy Awards.

4 PM: Ayiti Mon Amour, a magical neorealist fable set in Haiti five years after a devastating earthquake.

7 PM: Rattlesnakes, starring Jimmy Jean-louis. “Robert McQueen’s day takes a turn for the worst when he is held hostage and accused by three vengeful husbands of sleeping with their wives.”

The 2019 Emerigng Leader Award: Honoree Bechir Sylvain
