Event Description

This Pan African Women’s Day 2018 celebration  will bring together sisters and brothers from across Pan African Diaspora and community  under the theme “Honoring Mama Winnie Mandela, Symbol the Power, Presence of African Women Leadership of the African Revolution! African Women Must Lead!!”
We will highlight the herstoric contributions of those 20,000 South African Women who marched on the apartheid government on August 9th 1956 to demand the end of colonialism in Africa, and to demand the respect and dignity of African People!

This is a time to network, strategize and celebrate our power as women! Key note speakers, poetry, music, film and workshops fill the day to engage women and men of African descent to learn more about who we are and our role in our worldwide community.

We honor our great Pan African Women warriors  who have made a significant contributions to our struggle for the unity and Liberation of our People. We will assess the achievements, shortcomings and setbacks and victories of the worldwide Pan African movement and the role of Women in the area of political power, health, social and cultural areas and economic power.

We hope to draw up an action plan for advancing our movement of Pan Africanism and culminate with the formation of a Pan African Women’s Alliance that supports women in the diaspora – expanding Pan Africanism by playing a leading role in the liberation of African women, men, youth and elders towards a truly Free and United Africa and African People’s!
