Registration or Login is required before entering event info.
Please follow these helpful guidelines when submitting your event:
- Title – Use upper and lower case letters when entering the event name. Do not use all capital letters.
- Image – Use an engaging image with a limited amount of text. The recommended image specifications are 800×600 pixels and it needs to be in landscape format (not portrait or square). The image must be a minimum size of 250×165 and in either .jpg, .gif, or .png format. No PDF.
- Description – Provide at least 3-4 sentences describing your event, including who the presenters are and what attendees should expect to experience. A brief background on the organization or presenters is appreciated. Do not include date, time, venue, or ticket prices in the description as these will already be on the event page.
- Fee – Please use the $ when entering the fee
- Website = The complete URL must be entered, including http://www.yourwebsite.com. Your website will not be accessible without the http://.
- Venue – Please enter the name of the venue in addition to the address.
- No Recurring Events – We are not accepting recurring events at this time. Please list multiple events seperately.
- Do Not Copy and Paste from Microsoft Word. If you must copy and paste do so from a text (.txt) file.
At Black Cultural Events we stay true to our mission. If your event cannot be determined to be a Black cultural event or is entered incorrectly it may be removed from the calendar. We welcome all submissions that support our mission.
Events are chosen for the newsletter at the discretion of the editors. Events with engaging images and well-written descriptions have a greater chance of being selected.
